Do I need a visa for Lebanon?

Yes, most travellers need a visa. In many cases, it is issued free of charge upon arrival at Beirut Airport. Please check official sources before travelling, as regulations may change.

What are the entry requirements?

In addition to the visa, further documents may be required, for example:

  • a valid passport (usually at least 6 months validity)
  • proof of accommodation or a return flight

Please also carry a printed copy of our official travel confirmation.

Do I need vaccination advice?

It is recommended to review standard travel vaccinations before your trip (e.g. Hepatitis A and B, typhoid, tetanus). Please consult your doctor or a travel medicine specialist for individual medical advice.

How safe is Lebanon for travellers?

Lebanon is a diverse country and the security situation may vary regionally. Our programmes focus only on areas that are currently open and considered safe for tourism.

Your safety is our top priority. We stay in close contact with local partners and adjust routes if necessary.

Which currency is used?

The official currency is the Lebanese Pound (LBP). US Dollars are also commonly accepted.

We recommend carrying some cash, as card payments are not always available.

Are there cultural or religious customs I should respect?

Yes. Please respect local customs and religious sites. Dress modestly, especially when visiting mosques and churches. If in doubt, ask before taking photos of people or religious places.

What should I consider regarding health and safety?

Drink bottled water only, pay attention to food hygiene and avoid risky situations. Follow the advice of local authorities and your guide.

Which languages are spoken in Lebanon?

The official language is Arabic. In many tourist areas, English and French are also widely spoken and understood.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers at least medical treatment, trip cancellation/interruption and loss of luggage.

What should I definitely pack?

A short packing checklist for Lebanon:

  • passport (and visa if required)
  • travel documents and travel confirmation
  • personal medication and a small first aid kit
  • sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
  • comfortable clothing and walking shoes

  • power adapter (if needed)
